How to keep this community supportive and useful

Guidelines for using this forum

Postby Nick Freeman » September 10th, 2007, 8:34 pm

This Elgato User Forum is intended to be a user-to-user discussion area for all Elgato Systems products, including EyeTV.

As topics are created and comments posted, Elgato Customer Support will look into the discussions, but will not necessarily respond to every question.

Those seeking one-on-one support from Elgato Systems should visit http://support.elgato.com and create a ticket. If you have a hardware problem, then you should definitely create a ticket, so we can help you quickly.

If you have an issue relating to your purchase, please contact sales@elgato.com - don't post your issue in this forum. We want to help you as fast as possible, and also maintain your privacy.

Users are free to leave feature requests, or to speculate about the future actions of Elgato Systems, but Elgato Systems will not generally confirm or deny such speculation, or guarantee that a certain feature will be added to updated software. We are eager to find out what you think about our products, and how you'd like them to be improved, and we'll keep those comments in mind during future development.

At times, Elgato Systems may make beta software available via the Forum and/or the Support system. Links to such software posted by us or by users may be removed at any time, and such software is available on an as-is basis, with no guarantee of performance.

We reserve the right to edit or reformat posts, without notice, to help keep things 'on topic', to improve clarity, remove profanity, eliminate duplication, and eliminate those which are abusive or arbitrarily inflammatory.

A thread which only serves to attack Elgato Systems or its staff may be locked or deleted, but a topic which serves to attack members of this forum will definitely be closed. Our goal is to offer a supportive and comfortable place where everyone can discuss Elgato products, and receive assistance from the large community of Elgato users. We appreciate your cooperation as we work to grow this community and make it more useful.

Also, while signatures are encouraged on posts, we may edit those which are too garish or distracting (blinky, animated, too many colors, too big, etc.)

To clarify what that means...
We want this to be a friendly and useful place where everyone can discuss Elgato products and related topics. Rants and other posts which serve no purpose except to attack Elgato, its staff or products may be deleted. Re-posting of deleted material may result in the the user being removed.
